'Emotionally Charged' Canvas Print

This piece was born during a time of emotional intensity and personal turmoil. I was in a deeply toxic relationship: one filled with love, but often overwhelming, suffocating, and at times, abusive.

I turned to abstract art during this period, even though abstraction felt unnatural to me. I’ve always been drawn to logic, structure, and control, things abstract work doesn’t offer. This painting began as a personal challenge to let go, to step into discomfort, and to blend abstraction with realism.

Over time, it became a mirror of the relationship itself: chaotic, emotional, and complex. Even now, looking at it brings back the same flood of feelings I experienced while creating it.

There’s a hidden detail tied to that chapter of my life: my former partner was deaf in one ear, and in the piece, that ear is intentionally blocked. A hand reaches out, craving connection, understanding, love.

The relationship ended which was necessary. But this painting remains as a powerful reflection of what I lived through and what I’ve let go of.
